The Asset Protocols is a surveillance state where elite athletes are raised and conscripted as national assets, and soccer is the arena where the government decides who lives comfortably and who gets sent to die at the Front.

In Savage Striker, the Academy's flagship asset, raised under total surveillance to be flawless, is forced into one dorm room with the Sector 9 conscript who was pulled off the streets to take his crown.
